Explore Bimetal bearings Types – Self-lubricating composite sliding bearing material

Bimetal bearings are a metallic composite material composed of a steel strip serving as a supportive backing and a sintered-on, self-lubricating bronze sliding layer. The incorporation of solid lubricant (either graphite or PTFE) dispersed within the sliding layer, under preload, allows for maintenance-free usage of the sliding bearing. This self-lubricating material, which requires no maintenance, comes in various alloy variants and material thicknesses. The dual-layer structure facilitates the creation of compact and highly durable sliding bearing designs that operate reliably. The proportion of solid lubricant, as well as its particle shape and distribution, varies depending on the alloy used.

Plain bearings type, bimetallic composite bearing

The JF bimetallic composite bearing utilizes high-quality low-carbon steel as its base, with the surface sintered with copper alloys known for their low-friction properties (CuSn6.5P0.1, CuPb10Sn10, CuSn8Ni, CuPb24Sn4, AlSn20Cu) to form the wear-resistant layer of the bearing.

To adapt to various working conditions, the surface of the copper alloy can be processed with different types of oil grooves, oil holes, oil pockets, etc., making it suitable for situations where continuous refueling is not feasible or challenging. Through secondary sintering and secondary extrusion, the material achieves excellent joint strength and optimal bearing capacity.

Bimetal Bearings Application Construction machinery: supporting wheel bushings, towing wheel bushings, tensioner bushings for chassis running mechanisms; Automobile industry: balance shaft bushing, steel plate pin bushing, steering knuckle main shaft bushing, connecting rod bushing, valve rocker arm bushing, camshaft bushing, differential bushing, transmission bushing, internal combustion engine main bearing , thrust washers; and piston pump side pieces, gear pump side pieces, etc.
