Sliding Bearing Lubrication
Oil lubrication is preferable for high rotation speed and deformations, but also applicable for low rotation speed. The type of lubricating oil depends on the particular application. By increasing the adhesion and smoothing of sliding surfaces, molybdenum sulfide or graphite additives can improve the lubrication properties.
Grease lubrication should be applied in cases of low rotational frequency, endurance, and impact load, or if float friction is not within reach. High-quality plain bearing grease should only be used. Lubrications with solid additives exceeding a proportion of 2% are not recommended, as they are likely to cause wastage in advance.
Dry-film lubricants like molybdenum sulfide (MoS2) or graphite come to use at high temperatures, dry-running operation, or one-time lubrication.
Dry bearings without lubrication
