Tolerance and measuring systems
The mounting dimensions and tolerances of sliding bearings are related to the material and wall thickness. For each material, its water absorption and thermal conductivity are also important. Plain bearings with low water absorption can be designed to allow for smaller tolerances. The thicker the bearing wall, the larger the tolerance should be.

Bushings or sleeve bearings slide between moving surfaces. Bushings are selected depending on the speed and applied load. Most bushings do not require additional lubrication to operate.

Wrapped Bushings Tolerances
It is not possible to accurately measure the outer and inner diameters of a wrapped sleeve in its free state. In the free state, a coiled sleeve will not be perfectly cylindrical. The socket will conform to the housing when the butt joint is properly closed. For this reason, the outside diameter and outside diameter of a wound bushing can only be verified with special gauges and test equipment.
Standard bushings tolerances (unwrapped)
The standard tolerances of the bushings are specified in their respective dimension tables.
If a bushing with 8 mm DI (d) and 12 mm DE (D *) is used, the DI dimension (d *) specifies an F7 tolerance that corresponds to 13 µm / 28 µm. The OD (D) dimension specifies an m6 tolerance that corresponds to 7 µm / 18 µm.
