Copper self-lubricating oil-free bushing bearings, also known as oilless bushings, are a type of bearing that can operate without the need for external lubrication. They are made of a copper alloy, often with embedded solid lubricants such as graphite, which provides self-lubricating properties.
These bearings are designed to work continuously under conditions of no oil lubrication, making them suitable for heavy load and low-speed conditions. They exhibit good wear resistance and a very low friction coefficient. They are also suitable for reciprocating, rotating, and intermittent motion where an oil film is difficult to form.

Bronze is a popular choice for creating plain bearings, bushings, liner plates, washers, and oilless components due to its excellent wear resistance, high load-carrying capacity, and good corrosion resistance. The 500SP series is a type of copper alloy commonly used for creating oilless components in a variety of applications. Here’s an overview of machining these parts:
Material Selection: Choose the right type of bronze alloy for your application. The 500SP series is a popular choice for oilless components due to its embedded solid lubricant particles, which provide self-lubricating properties.
Machining Process: For machining bronze components, the most commonly used methods include turning, milling, drilling, and grinding. The specific process depends on the desired shape and size of the component. Use cutting tools with sharp edges and high-quality cutting fluid to ensure smooth machining and prevent workpiece deformation.
Cutting Speed and Feed Rate: The optimal cutting speed and feed rate depend on the type of bronze alloy, the machining process, and the tooling used. In general, lower cutting speeds and feed rates are recommended for bronze alloys with high lead content, while higher cutting speeds and feed rates can be used for alloys with lower lead content. Make sure to monitor tool wear and adjust the parameters accordingly.
Tool Material: Carbide cutting tools are recommended for machining bronze due to their high wear resistance and ability to maintain a sharp edge. High-speed steel (HSS) tools can also be used, but they may require more frequent sharpening and replacement.
Lubrication and Cooling: Proper lubrication is essential when machining bronze components to minimize tool wear and achieve a high-quality surface finish. Use a high-quality cutting fluid and ensure adequate cooling during the machining process.
Finishing and Deburring: After machining, it’s important to finish and deburr the component to remove any sharp edges or rough surfaces. This can be done using manual deburring tools, sandpaper, or specialized finishing machines.
Quality Control and Inspection: Inspect the machined components for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and any potential defects. Use measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and surface roughness testers to ensure the components meet the required specifications.
By following these guidelines, you can effectively machine bronze bushings, plain bearings, liner plates, washers, and 500SP copper alloy oilless components for a wide range of applications.

High-strength brass oilless bearings with embedded solid lubricant Dam gates
High-strength brass oilless bearings with embedded solid lubricant are becoming increasingly popular for use in dam gates, where they offer significant advantages over traditional bearings.
Oilless bearings are made of materials that do not require oil or grease to operate, which makes them more environmentally friendly and reduces the need for maintenance. In addition, they are more durable and can operate at higher speeds and under heavier loads than traditional bearings.
One type of oilless bearing that is particularly well-suited to dam gates is the high-strength brass bearing with embedded solid lubricant. These bearings are made of a high-strength brass alloy that provides excellent resistance to corrosion and wear, making them ideal for use in harsh environments like those found in dams.
The embedded solid lubricant in these bearings provides an additional layer of protection against wear and helps to reduce friction, which in turn reduces energy consumption and extends the lifespan of the bearings. The solid lubricant is typically made of graphite or molybdenum disulfide, which are both highly effective at reducing friction and wear.
In addition to their durability and high performance, high-strength brass oilless bearings with embedded solid lubricant offer other advantages for use in dam gates. For example, they can be custom designed to fit specific applications and can be easily replaced if necessary, which reduces downtime and maintenance costs.
Overall, the use of high-strength brass oilless bearings with embedded solid lubricant is a smart choice for dam gates and other applications where high performance and durability are essential. They offer significant advantages over traditional bearings and are a cost-effective and reliable solution for a wide range of industrial applications.

Oil-free Bushing Series. Bronze plain bearings with solid lubricant inserts
Maintenance-free cast bronze plain bearings with graphite inserts
The Oil-free Bushing series of solid bronze plain bearings with solid graphite lubricant inserts combines the advantages of both worlds. On the one hand, the insert with a base made of turned bronze has the advantages of a solid plain bearing, such as high load capacity and excellent suitability for shock loads. On the other hand, thanks to the solid lubrication of the plain bearings, the regularly recessed lubricant reservoirs allow for longer maintenance intervals.
In these recesses, the bronze plain bearings absorb dust particles and the coefficient of friction at the bearing position is reduced by solid lubrication with graphite.Oil-free Bushing’s solid cast bronze plain bearings conform to ISO 4379 and are also characterized by their resistance to high temperatures above 250°C and low wear – even under high loads.

Self-lubricating bearing is used where the demand for maintenance-free operation, high load, or high temperature makes it impossible to use conventional bearings. Manufactured and sell the bearing from China. Function oil-free bronze self-lubricating bearings use high-grade bronze alloys as their base material and have a finely finished surface with pockets in which a specially formulated solid lubricant is embedded. The pattern of the lubricating material is arranged geometrically, so that the entire bearing surface is lubricated permanently, in the direction of motion. During operation, a very thin, but nevertheless extremely strong, lubricating film is deposited automatically over the complete moving surface. This film remains intact at all times, even at standstill. The solid lubricant covers 25–30% of the sliding surface. Oil-free bushing bearings are primarily intended for intermittent duty.

Gunmetal
Gunmetal alloys include the most commonly used bearing materials. They have a somewhat lower load-bearing capacity than lead-free or lead-containing copper-tin alloys. However, they can adequately meet the requirements of bearings operating at moderate loads and medium to high speeds.
The solubility of lead in liquid copper is very low. It is almost entirely insoluble in solid copper or its alloys. In addition, lead melts at relatively low temperatures and when the bearings are cast, the information in the alloy ends up freezing, thus forming irregular spheres between the boundaries of the copper-tin alloy. The lead is used to improve its bearing performance. The free lead islands tend to coat the surfaces of the bearings and shafts, effectively acting as a built-in lubricant. This prevents seizures in the event of interruptions in the lubricant supply. For this reason, these alloys are particularly recommended for boundary lubrication and mixed film applications. Gunmetal alloys can be used for unhardened shafts.

Excellent thermal conductivity
Reasonable resistance to seawater corrosion

Installation self-lubricating bearings require minimum or no maintenance provided they are correctly dimensioned and installed. Their high strength will then give a long bearing life. The following points are important when installing the bearing:
oil-free bushing is specially packed for transporation. Please do not remove the protective cover until installation.
The sliding surface of the bearing is treated with a solid lubricant coating.
This is applied to improve the running-in process. Please make sure that this film is not damaged at the installation.
Make sure the mating material is cleaned carefully. This is very important for the life of the oil-free bearing.
